Data Center Photos

Photos contributed by the data center community for the 2014 edition of the book.

Massive interconnection is what separates commodity data centers from colocation centers. In these photos we see overhead wiring trays carrying data (fiber and copper) as well as power (A/C and D/C), plus glimpses of the operations floors at the world’s largest exchanges and colocation facilities.

Photos courtesy of CyrusOne, Equinix, CoreSite, DE-CIX, AMS-IX, NetNod, Teraco, Jonathan Lassoff, DuPont Fabros Technology, Connie Zhou and Google, and Matt Peterson. Captions may need refinement — eight of the credits above are confirmed from the book’s “Photo courtesy of” lines; the rest of the contributor list is from the Acknowledgements page and their specific photos are interleaved throughout the chapters.
